Huge Alien Eye Floater Destroyed with Laser. YAG Laser Vitreolysis Specialist
High degrees of myopia are associated with earlier-onset floaters. This 41 year old man suffered a posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) in 2020 with massive, thick, optically sense vitreous cortex membranes ... like trying to look through wax paper. The video shows the results of 2 consecutive day treatments combined with almost 18 years of surgical specialty focus on treating eye floaters. All of the commentary is by Doctor Johnson while performing the laser procedure.

Laser Vitreolysis Treatment of Eye Floater - Doctor's View and Live Commentary
Просмотров 997Месяц назад
A posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) is common with the aging eye. Often a sudden onset of peripheral flashes of light and new, very bothersome eye floaters. These moving shadows and clouds in your vision will not go away in spite of your eye doctor's well intended advice. Treating Floaters Not Usually Considered Floaters

I am using a YAG laser to treat a broad, diffuse vitreous membrane. This is the this 'sheet' usually attached to the retina in youth, and peels away from it in the event of a Posterior Vitreous Detachment. REFORMATION of EYE FLOATERS with LASER VITREOLYSIS
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 месяца назад
With some types of eye floaters, after an otherwise successful treatment, there can be some reformation of the sticky collagen protein fragments. They typically form longer, thin, fuzzy fiber strands. This is frustrating, of course, but usually quite treatable. The reformed floaters are compact and appear to have less material, less mass than the original presenting condition, so it is still pr...

Hey doctor, could floaters by any chance be related to dehydration/ coffee use and looking at screens to much? Im a 26 yo programmer and i sit all day infront of the screen aswell as drink a ton of coffee. My floaters are only getting worse and worse. I also wonder if stress can cause floaters? (One of my friends mothers had it and apparently her doctor said it could be caused by stress).

I'm only 30, but this year I developed a huge floater in my right eye. From what I can tell, it seems to be a Weiss ring, albeit a broken one (it appears as a sort of semicircle, but sometimes opens to be more straight or closes to be almost circular, depending on how it moves). It's been there for nearly half a year now. It's very annoying, and makes me sensitive to light because the brighter my surroundings, the more visible and distracting the floater is. I can't stand to look at a bright computer screen anymore. I use dark mode on everything now. I live in Mississippi. I don't know what treatment options there are here, or how much they cost (I also have no health insurance).

Wanted to share my experience as that patient is me. This is maybe 1/10th of what Dr. Johnson did. He spent enough time to explain (before, during, and after) treatment. He also came in on a weekend to accommodate my travel schedule. that is a huge help that is almost unheard of. One thing I always say about bad eyes (high myopia) and now that floater you see is - nobody really understands except the person itself. Brain will get used to a floater speech is a massive BS. Long story short - vision (after 2 treatments) is lot better than what it was. Instead of through wax paper (constantly), it is now more like slightly dirty eyeglass. 80-90% improvement.

I have this "large" mass that floats around and has lots of small dark floaters in it. The dark floaters don't bother me, but sometimes that mass interferes with my vision such that it's blurry. When both eyes get hit at the same time with the "blurry blob", it's a bit nerve wracking when I'm driving. The retinal specialist I saw said he only sees a few small floaters, but still willing to do a vitrectomy. I'm nervous about it and have discovered that bending over and picking up heavy objects seems to exasperate the blurriness. Do these "blobs" make sense to you? Do you think you could see them with your equipment?

Hi Doctor, I had an eye injury 2 months ago, small steel shard entered my cornea. Got that removed, but since I (just like this patient) see a haze that passes my peripheral. The only thing is: it passes my vision in the opposite direction. When looking left to right, it crosses my vision right to left, same goes for up & down. In front of the haze I see regular floaters too, those move with the eye movement. I kind of interpret them as a standing up circular form in my eye. The front part moves with my eye movement (small floaters) & the back part moves in the opposite direction (gaze). Is this even a thing with eye floaters? I visited 3 ophthalmologists, all say everything checks out... Yet I'm bothered by this blur/gaze that crosses my vision 24/7. 😒 Is there some kinde of center point in the eye where you could experience the floaters moving in opposite direction? (Can't really find anything on this, only found very few people online with similar symptoms) Thanks!

Hello, Doctor. I'm 43 years old and from Singapore. For the past two months, I've been experiencing visible floaters in my vision, which look like clouds and strings, some connected with dots. One of the floaters is over 2 inches long and appears in my line of sight time to time, which is very irritating. I also developed dry eyes just before this started. I was working long hour not eating also not drinking water at that point. I had my eyes checked, and the doctors told me there are no vision issues, so I don't need to wear glasses. However, they noted the beginning of vitreous gel degeneration and, recommended using blue light glasses since I work long hours on screens. The long string-like floater is attached to three main points with almost black or ashen dots. Can this be removed with YAG laser treatment? Is there a way I can visit you for further consultation?

Omg, thank you!! I have a retinal tear fixed last fall and I’m struggling with both eyes as I see a rippling when I move my eyes up and down. The Dr didn’t know what it was, said to ignore it, but it’s incredibly irritating. Plus I’m convinced that it irritates my eyes sometimes to the point that I rub my eyes and it seems to help. Plus with the flashing lights… it’s incredibly annoying and distracting. Thank goodness my retina tear was fixed with laser, the other eye has no tear but the vitreous is separated now and the ripples when I move my eyes is in both eyes… Please, is there anything I can do for this? Will it go away with time? Thanks!

After three treatments on both eyes, involving 3x10 hour round trips and two hotel stayovers, not only was there no improvement, but he ended up putting a hole in the back of my lens capsule, which eventually led to vitrectomy and lens replacement. Some years before, Dr. Johnson was very kind in corresponding with me. If anyone can perform successful YAG vitreolysis, I believe he can. Some hemoglobin trapped inside the floater?..any thing that may suggest no laser surgery in a “floater” case?😮Having trouble w/ Japanese Docs trying to convince me to have a”vitrectomy” instead but my condition isn’t that serious from research (including your vid’s!)..+ the fact that they won’t give up my photos & sonic ones as well so I can get second opinions! This is so cool to watch! What happens if the laser misses the floater? Can it cause damage to the back of the eye?

The laser energy is delivered at a point in space. There could very well be damage to the retina or lens >> IF << the apex of the cone where the energy is delivered is too close to the retina or lens. The key is to always know exactly where it is focused and stay safely away from the these important structures.

@@Thefloaterdoctor1 Whoa I didn’t know that you could control the impact of the laser in 3D space. Thank you!
